The green color comes from the copper oxidizing in the air because the mineral forms close to the surface of the Earth. It is generally found in caverns and caves where the mineral has formed into a stalactite or coated the surface of the ground. They were first found in Egypt and Israel around 4000 BC. It has a beautiful, rich, color and is easily spotted thanks to the instantly recognizable swirls of lighter green found within the stones. It’s almost reminiscent of marble swirls, but can also be found in concentric circles and other flowing shapes. These beautiful green stones are minerals that form not too far from the Earth’s surface.
Malachite is considered a protection stone and is said to absorb negative, toxic and pollutant energies from around you and from within you.
